About Nancy Roper Willson, RN, JD, MSN, MA
Ms. Roper Willson holds degrees in biology (Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington) and nursing (Bachelor of Science from Texas Woman's University and Master of Science from the University of Texas at Arlington). As a Family Nurse Practitioner, she practiced in the area of pediatrics for many years. She then became interested in the legal aspects of health care and nursing and attended Southern Methodist University, where she graduated with a Juris Doctorate. While in law school, she attended University College at Oxford University in Oxford, England, for a summer semester.
Ms. Roper Willson began her law career in a general civil practice firm, but later opened her own office focusing on nursing law in 1991. As a person who truly enjoys the academic environment, Ms. Roper Willson became a member of the faculty of the University of Texas at Arlington's College of Nursing in 1998 to 2015. Among the topics she taught were nursing, jurisprudence and forensics.
